Known as the green witch, Wormwood is a key member of the Artemisia genus and exhibits many of the purification qualities of this large group of plants, specialising in parasitic energies, entities and thought-forms. She is a true shadow plant penetrating levels of existence others fear to tread, providing powerful protection and insight. It is her courting of the illusory and surreal which has earned her the classification of rhapsodica and taken as an essence we can still tap into this aspect of her consciousness, giving us the ability to cut through illusions and see into the darker corners of the psyche. In this regard Wormwood allows us to move through patterns of disappointment or the inability to forgive as well as let go of obsessive behaviours.

Wormwoods Old English name is wormod, roughly translated as ‘’defend the mind’’. When training in the psychic arts or shamanic healing Wormwood can protect a vulnerable and open state against lower astral energies. In general she is a master teacher for psychic awareness, helping to open the third eye, sharpen inner vision and be precise in our work there. Wormwood can also have a sense of humour, bringing joy and laughter to serious inner work to ensure vibrations are kept high.
